The egg supply chain on one real-time dashboard
Egg distribution startup · Agritech
The business said
- “Build a full ERP for the egg business”
- “A separate app for every team”
- “Stand up a data warehouse and BI stack from scratch”
- “Ship custom mobile apps before the web is proven”
- “Wait for perfectly clean data before building anything”
- “Put daily sales, stock, demand, and logistics on one live dashboard the ops team actually opens”
The egg business did not need an ERP. It needed one live dashboard where sales, stock, demand, and logistics finally sat side by side.
A real-time operations dashboard, built in React and Next.js
The startup sells eggs at scale across India, moving millions of white and brown eggs a month from farms and raw material into finished stock, then out through regional distribution beats. The numbers that ran the business lived in a dozen spreadsheets and end-of-day reports: daily eggs sold against target, raw material and finished stock, quality checks, complaints, the NECC price, revenue, demand, and shortfall. Nobody could see the whole picture in one place, and by the time a report was compiled it was already stale.
We built a single real-time operations dashboard as a web application in React, Next.js, and TypeScript, backed by a Node and PostgreSQL data layer. It pulls daily egg sales, month-to-date revenue, raw material, finished and old stock, quality batches, and complaint logs onto one screen, each KPI shown against its target with a clear up or down trend versus yesterday and versus last month.
The demand side is where it earns its keep. Adjusted demand versus dispatch is broken out by white and brown eggs, with the shortfall surfaced per region so the planning team can act before a beat runs short. A revenue achievement trajectory chart ranks every region, from Bangalore and Tamil Nadu to Hyderabad, UP, East, West, and NCR, and a region-wise view lines up raw material, old stock, and finished stock so overstock and gaps are obvious at a glance.
Logistics sits right beside it: total and ongoing beats, assigned and unassigned routes, all live. What used to be a stack of end-of-day reports is now one browser tab the operations team keeps open all day. The build shipped in weeks, instrumented from the first release, so every decision from procurement to dispatch now starts from the same live numbers.
